On May 30, 2023, a working meeting was held between representatives of NOMA and the "Post-release Control" Directorate at the Central Customs Directorate of the "Customs" Agency. The focus of the meeting was the upcoming reform in customs and the possibilities for optimizing the process of monitoring persons with AEO status.
The main aspects of the upcoming reforms are the following:
- Digitization and automation
- Risk Management
- Role of administration in trade
- Capacity development and structural reform
- Customer service with a focus on strengthening the use of simplified procedures
At the end of the meeting, a discussion was held on the thus presented vision for changes in the customs control system in our country, and we had the opportunity to express both our positive attitude towards these ideas and concerns about their practical implementation and usefulness for business.
We hope that such meetings will be more frequent, in view of the opportunity to present the position of the business during the preparation of the upcoming changes, and not only to be informed about them.
