NOCA held a specialized seminar on topics in the field of tariff classification and origin of goods

On December 4, 2021, the National Organization of Customs Agents (NOCA) held a specialized online seminar on "TARIFF CLASSIFICATION AND ORIGIN OF GOODS". The initiative is part of the NOCA's efforts to increase the competencies of its members in the field of customs control, with more than 70 participants.

Lecturers were experts from the Customs and Methodology Directorate of the Customs Agency:

  •     Ms. Tatiana Terziyska - Head of the Taxation Elements Department
  •     Ms. Maya Beleva - State Expert in the Tariff Classification and TARIC Sector
  •     Ms. Bistra Marinova - Senior Expert in the Customs Value and Origin Sector

In their presentations, the speakers presented to the participants the features and rules for tariff classification of goods, the new changes in the Harmonized System, effective from the beginning of 2022, the benefits of using Binding Tariff Information (BTI), the rules for determining non-preferential and preferential origin of goods within the meaning of the new rules of origin in the Pan-Euro-Mediterranean area, the peculiarities of the cumulation of origin and its types, the types of proofs of origin, the specifics of the rules of origin in trade with the United Kingdom, etc.

During the seminar, the participants had the opportunity to ask their questions to the speakers and to participate in the discussions on individual topics.
