As of 2 October 2017, the transitional arrangements for applying for customs decisions will end and economic operators will have to introduce all new applications for customs decisions or authorisations electronically and according to the new UCC requirements.
The European Commission and EU Member States have designed a new “Customs Decisions System” (CDS) for this purpose, based upon an IT architecture containing both national and EU common components.
Today, the European Commission has released an e-learning module to help the future users of the Customs Decision System prepare for the implementation of the new tool.
The e-learning course guides users through the set-up and implementation of the CDS, in line with the provisions defined in the UCC, and prepares them to confidently use the CDS in accordance with their role.
